OFWs not required to put on PPEs throughout departure — POEA




MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Abroad Employment Administration (POEA) has issued an advisory stating that recruitment businesses can’t require abroad Filipino staff (OFWs) to put on private protecting gear (PPE) throughout their departure journeys.

In keeping with an announcement launched on Saturday, the POEA acted on the directive of Division of Migrant Staff (DMW) Secretary Susan Ople after she was notified by a manning company that their Japanese principals nonetheless required OFWs to put on PPEs.

“[POEA] has not issued nor applied guidelines and tips mandating the usage of [PPE] by [OFWs], whether or not in Philippine airports or within the international locations of vacation spot,” the advisory learn….
